About

About Daniel Walter Hill

In his illustrious career, he was a key founding advisor of Allied Waste Industries. This prominent waste management firm subsequently merged with and took on the name of Republic Services. His professional journey began in real estate development, overseeing the acquisition, design, planning, and financial management of multiple 1,000-acre mixed-use masterplan developments in Texas, California, and Arizona.

His academic pursuits are equally diverse. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Georgetown University and a Law degree from the University of Saskatchewan. After being called to the bar in British Columbia, he completed the esteemed Owner/President Management Program at Harvard University School of Business Administration. Furthering his expertise in finance, he attended Oxford Templeton College in the UK, where he studied Executive Finance.

Beyond his business endeavors, his life is deeply rooted in philanthropy. Profoundly influenced by his encounters with Mother Teresa during the last five years of her life, he experienced the profound impact of empathy and charitable work, leading to his dedication to helping the underprivileged and marginalized. He established Gratia International, a charity focused on restoring dignity to individuals from all walks of life. He successfully obtained funding through this organization to develop Tansian University and related educational institutions in Nigeria. His extensive network for Gratia International includes prominent benefactors like FedEx, various UK companies, the Templeton Foundation, and wealthy private individuals from Canada, the US, and the UK.

Today, Daniel’s legacy is one built on Faith, Family, and Fidelity — a life of enterprise, service, and devotion to Anne, their four sons, and their ten grandchildren.
